A year of growing connections
16 Oct 2015
Just over a year ago we opened our doors to organisations from across the payments ecosystem with the launch of our membership programme, complementing our existing Direct Settlement Participant programme.
Our membership programme has been designed to connect a broader range of organisations with our work to achieve the collective industry aspiration to have a world-leading payments system.
In a complex and fast moving payments environment, our goal is to make sure payments are simple and secure for Kiwis. Membership is one way to achieve that goal as it helps us to connect our wider membership, gives them the opportunity to have a say on the issues that impact their organisations, and enables them to get involved in the work we do.
We have been thoroughly pleased with the interest the membership programme has generated since launch, as well as the support from our Participants, foundation Members, and all Members that have joined over the past year.
Our wider membership base is currently made up of 11 Participants and 16 Members:
Our Participants
ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, ICBC (NZ), Kiwibank, NZ Depository, TSB, and Westpac
Our Members
Infrastructure Members
EFTPOS New Zealand, Paymark (foundation), Progressive Enterprises (foundation).
Standards Members
Rabobank New Zealand.
Industry Members
American Express New Zealand, Co-op Money NZ, Foodstuffs NZ (foundation), Heartland Bank, MasterCard (foundation), Paystation (a Trade Me company) (foundation), Semble, Smartpay (foundation), SWIFT (foundation), UnionPay, VISA (foundation), and Z Energy (foundation).
At all levels of membership, being on board allows companies to be kept in the loop.
There are other ways you and your organisation can get involved with the industry and our work too. We hold The Hub networking events throughout the year, run a biennial payments conference with the next conference scheduled for 8 and 9 November 2016, and publish articles and reports.
If you’re interested in becoming a Payments NZ Participant or Member, or you would like to be added to our email list to be kept up to date about our events and news, simply email us at [email protected] or phone us on (04) 890 6750.
